Document accessibility remediation is carried out as a prerequisite for publishing documents online (on a client's website or official platforms such as a stock exchange or securities authority website), ensuring that people with disabilities — primarily those who are blind or visually impaired — can "read" them using screen reader software that reads the text aloud.
Accessibility remediation itself is not about the audio output but about organizing and structuring the document at the software level behind the written content, so that it can be read aloud in a continuous, coherent, complete, and accurate manner.
We review every document submitted for remediation from beginning to end, using automated systems supplemented by manual accessibility work, including rigorous quality control. We verify that the document's structure is correct in terms of heading hierarchy and body text, that tables and lists are properly defined, that images and diagrams are aligned with the text and include appropriate alternative descriptions, and much more.
"Listening" to text — especially in complex official documents such as financial reports or tenders — is an extremely challenging task. Through accessibility remediation, we ensure that the screen reader software presents the text as closely as possible to the way a sighted reader perceives it visually.
Our workflow is designed from the outset to minimize the disruption that sending a document for accessibility remediation causes clients operating under tight deadlines and high-stakes publication schedules. We are available 24/7, 365 days a year (and many of our clients will confirm this is a genuine commitment we are proud to stand behind completely!), and when a document needs to be remediated on the spot, we deliver without exception.
For official publications such as tenders or public notices, we receive the final document in Word format, remediate it quickly (no more than one or two days even for documents running hundreds of pages), and return to the client an accessible Word file along with a converted PDF version, ready for upload.
For seasonal or recurring publications — such as financial reports from publicly traded companies — we sometimes carry out several rounds of remediation: we remediate the base format of the document in advance, then revisit and remediate the final document incorporating all changes and updates made right before publication. Here too, we receive the original Word files, remediate them, and return an accessible Word file along with a converted PDF version, ready for upload.
We work in close collaboration with the stakeholders responsible for report publication on the client side — legal counsel, CFOs, and financial controllers — helping them fulfill their accessibility obligations without disrupting their internal preparation workflow.
We are fully aware of the strict publication deadlines for financial reports and guarantee delivery of the final accessible version on time, without exception. Moreover, we stay with the client right up to the moment of publication, including repeated reviews of documents in the event of last-minute changes. We understand the level of commitment and service this demands of us, and we meet it with pride.
